Abstract:
The 51 black and white photographs document Helmut Buechner's field work in Kerr County, Texas, 1942. Images have descriptions on the back including date, location description (landmark in vicinity, distance from, sometimes name of ranch), description of vegetation including type, and evidence of soil erosion. Captions vary in length. Some use scientific name of plants and comment on biodiversity and effects of overgrazing on area vegetation. Images show vistas of terrain (pastures, trees, roadways.
