Abstract:
The dictabelt is a recording of Helmut Buechner's field notes for work completed in Semliki Game Reserve, Uganda, July 14 - 17, 1959. Entries are dated and narrative in style. He initially indicates that he spent time in the field with Allan C. Brooks and Lee Talbot. Talbot was doing research in vicinity at Serengetti National Park. Entres are dated; the majority of narrative describes location and method of kob tagging. Sites are numbered and identified, there are extensive descriptions (with time of day) of how kob react to the tranquilizer used and the amount of related dosage. He records measurements of individual kob as well as weight, sex, and age. There is a table of data relating field number, time, and remarks per site.
