The dictabelt is a recording of Helmut Buechner's field notes for work completed in Semliki Game Reserve, Uganda, July 8 - 13, 1959. He includes dates of entries, and descriptions are narrative in style. They primarily describe observations and the process of measuring and tagging kob. Details describe method of tranquilizing individual kob along with their physical reactions over periods of time to sedative. He also includes details about type and amount of solution used. He discusses physical characteristics of kob as well as sex and age, and tag number if applicable. Buechner spends time discussing behaviors and interactions with time of day, as well as photographs taken (sometimes with notes on settings), and observation sites (sometimes numbered). Many observations relate to territory. There is a table of listing field number, tag color and number, ear, date, and remarks. Territorial grounds are identified with their assigned number. At the end is a summary of work completed.
