The notebook documents Helmut Buechner's field work, August 17 - August 21, 1953, and undated. The notebook includes entries from both front and back. Most entries are dated and describe travel details (destination, time of day), names of colleagues with whom met, observed wildlife (time of day, type, appearance, sex, environment, behavior), lists of present vegetation, and photographs taken. From the back entries include tables of data on kills, statistics, contacts and addresses. Locations are not clearly identified.
