Abstract:
The field notes document Helmut Buechner's field work in Idaho, Washington, and unidentified locations between April- October 1952 [non consecutive]. Entries are dated and frequently headed with a combination of location, date, and sometimes name of colleague. Narratives usually describe travel routes, observations of flora and fauna (time of day; location; type; quantity; sex; age; behavior including scent, feeding, interactions; presence of defecation; if dead with estimated date), tables of data per species relating to numbered plots, terrain (elevation), vegetation, and photographs taken. Locations include Gredney Creek, Selway Falls (Idaho); Blue Mountains (Washington); Skyline Drive.
