The papers and note book document Helmut Buechner's observations in the Mill Creek Watershed (Washington), 1952. The notebook includes notes on expenses as well as possibly meetings; tables of observation data; and dated entries. Dated entries vary in format; some start with location and lists of observed wildlife (identification not clear, possibly listed as abbreviations); others state time of day with notes on terrain (slope), observed birds, presence of scat, state of vegetation, and sometimes notes on reason for vegetation present condition. Entries start from the front and back of the notebook. |Papers include observation notes headed with location and date with a narrative about work completed and time of day, names of colleagues, condition of terrain (state of erosion), observed populations (numbers, sex, behaviors including eating) of mammals and birds, tables of data per plot, as well as observation sheets with detailed notes on vegetation present.
