Abstract:
This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, 1964, on Northern Grid Survey 9. The Northern Grid Survey was conducted of a square section of the Pacific Ocean. Materials include bird data, fix data, locality data, and climatological data. Bird observations data sheets include entries for time, species, #, dir., hgt., and remarks. Fix data sheets include entries for date, time, sunset time, position sunset, time of fix, type of fix, longitude, and latitude. Climatological data sheets recorded time, lat., long., pres wea, vis, slp, dry b, wet b, dew pt, hum%, tl sky, opa sky, waves, sea temp, wind s, wind d, course, speed. Includes some rough sketches of birds and an annotated map showing Northern grid quadrants.
