The field book documents geological fieldwork completed by August Foerste. Entries are headed with location information and geological descriptions. Location information usually includes possibly name of town or landmarks (sometimes names of owners) like quarries, but identification is unclear. There are geological sections with measurements, descriptions of layer composition and color, type of stone. Sometimes locations are numbered with time of day and short descriptions.
