Abstract:
Original logbook of the Fish Hawk covers July 28 - October 25, 1915, station record numbers 8297 to 8349. Logbook includes fields for station number, date, hour, position (latitude and longitude), locality, depth, bottom, sample, wind (direction, force), sea, sky, temperatures (depth, thermometer, reading, stem temp, correction, correction temp, w. sample, bottle used), current (depth, hour, tide, time down, revolutions, speed, direction), color of water, transparency, remarks, nets used etc. (description, depth, time down, time up, speed) and notes. Data is not filled in for currents. Includes loose notes the include station numbers with position information, sometimes latitude and longitude. Locality: Gulf Stream [state not identified] and locations in Rhode Island, including Sakonnet Point.
