Abstract:
The black-and-white photographs document the work of D. E. Harvey in Mauritania as part of the Smithsonian Institution African Mammal Project, 1966 - 1967. On the reverse side of the photographs are captions with location (including distance from), date, and sometimes subject matter (sometimes genus) and photographer. Subject matter includes Senegal river, habitat, terrain (plains, pebble desert), unidentified structures. Locations include Garak, Akjoujt, Boghe [Bogué] and Fort Gouraud [Fdérik].
