Abstract:
This item consists of the photocopied field notes and species accounts of C. Douglas Hackman, created as part of his work with the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey. The bulk of materials in this folder are from March 1967. Field notes describe observations of birds as well as chick counts and egg measurements. Some hand drawn maps showing nests on Kure Atoll are present. The notes also document Hackman's observations of insects, vegetation, and his work banding turtles, and include some small drawings. Locations include Atafu, Fakaofo, French Frigate Shoals, Green Island, Kure Atoll, Laysan Island, and Lisianski Island.
