Abstract:
This item consists of field notes by Joe T. Marshall regarding the bird Spiza americana, or Dickcissel in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico from April 11-20, 1963. Two pages consist of journal-style entries which detail the observation of these birds, while two additional pages contain lists of bird specimens specifically observed. These lists contain such information as number, sex, weight, gonads, age, fat, food, and molt. An accompanying typed sheet by Marshall indicates that he was brought to Sinaloa to observe a pest problem with these birds. There are also two slides present.
