Abstract:
This is a field journal by Joe T. Marshall, detailing his field work with birds in Arizona from January 2 - December 23, 1954. Dated entries detail accounts of observing and collecting birds throughout Arizona. Information included are times, altitudes, weather conditions, terrain and forest descriptions, bird lists with species and numbers, and sketched maps of specific localities. These highly detailed maps are interspersed throughout the journal, and serve to show the terrain, topography, vegetation, and observation sites, with species observed often written on the map. There are also some bird sketches and some of the note pages are typed. The pages are numbered 1-174.
