Abstract:
This notebook details the field work of Frank Knowlton for the United States Geological Survey from June 23 - August 28, 1907. Localities include but may not be limited to areas within North Dakota. Dated journal entries detail travel information, daily activity, terrain and rock observations, and collecting information. Plant and plant fossil specimens are discussed, as well as distance measurements and specific observations of rock types and layers. Some geological sketches are also included that depict rock layers.
