The journal and notes document the field work of Charles O. Handley, Jr. in Labrador, June 21 - September 7, 1950. Entries are headed with date and locality or route. Descriptions start with departure from Boothbay Harbor, Maine aboard the vessel, the Blue Dolphin. Entries are dated and headed with location or route. Entries describe the crew, terrain, habitat, vegetation, life aboard ship, birds observed and collected, collecting methods, weather, collected mammals, daily activities including meals, interactions with colleagues, campsites.
