Abstract:
The journals document the collecting of J. H. Shaw and E. D. Cashatt for the Smithsonian Institution African Mammal Project, 1962 - 1963. The journal of J. D. Shaw covers work in Madagascar (October 22, 1962 - November 17, 1962) and Mexico (February 15 - 17, 1963). Entries are headed with date and locality (combination of country, region, town, distance from, sometimes elevation). Topics in entries are often broken out, including atmospheric conditions (temperatures, humidity, wet / dry bulb, weather), itinerary (with times of day), trap lines (bait, locations), collecting results, and remarks.
