Abstract:
The field book includes discussion of placement of survey equipment and calculations for work completed at Ulakhta Harbor [Dutch Harbor] and Amaknak Island. Journal entries document weather, barometer readings, temperature, wind; sketches of terrain; details about survey travel and daily activities (occasionally in entries); tides and currents; and number of men and women in different communities. Back of notebook has a list of tasks to be completed
