Abstract:
This folder contains photocopies of the Smithsonian Oceanographic Sorting Center (SOSC) data sheets for the Pacific Ornithological Oceanographic Project (POOP) 2, SOSC acc. no. 27. Each data sheet records the stomach contents of an individual bird. Birds were caught 14-20 Oct. 1963 on Baker Island and Howland Island in the Pacific Ocean. Stomach contents were recorded 5-26 May 1964. There are a total of 17 data sheets plus one drawing supplementing one data sheet. Bird species include Pluvialis dominica, Heteroscelus incanum, Anous stolidus, and Sula leucogaster. Fields include species, station no., SOSC acc no., lat. & long., date, time caught, direction flying, squid, ceph. beaks, fish, fish remains, crustacea, other animals, parasitic animals, notes on squid, notes on fish, and general notes.
