Abstract:
The journal documents C. Brian Robbins' field work in as part of the African Mammal Project (Smithsonian Institution), September 16, 1967 - July 29, 1968. Pages are numbered (50 - 151). Entries are dated and headed with location (including country, region, town, landmarks, sometimes latitude and longitude). Descriptions cover travel details (destinations, time of day, arrangements), trapping methods sometimes with time of day (including type and quantity of traps), specimens collected (type, quantity, sometimes age, and description), colleagues with whom he traveled (various), specimen preparation, interactions with local inhabitants, weather, terrain and vegetation, soil composition, and daily activities.
