The field catalog documents the mammals collected by Olaus Johan Murie in Alaska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Yukon, United States; British Columbia, Canada; July 28, 1920 - June 25, 1941. Entries cover USNM catalog number (non consecutive), specimen number (1401 - 3729), sex, name (scientific), locality (town or geological landmark, state), date, measurements (3 types), and remarks. Remarks include a combination of habitat and vegetation (i.e. caught on tundra, in patch of dwarf birch), live and dressed weight, results of dissection, quantity of embryos, notes of specimen transfers, additional location information (including distances from landmarks), altitude, and specimen preparation.
