Abstract:
23 black-and-white prints documenting the development of pileated woodpecker youths from 2 days old. Most of the photos are labeled with the age of the bird and many depict the birds being measured. Photos are from May and June of an unlabeled year, although these are probably the same birds Hoyt documented in the Summer of 1939. These were probably taken in Etna, New York. Also included are approximately 22 negatives from 7 to 17 February 1950 depicting pileated woodpecker youths eating.
