Abstract:
This field book consists of the field notes of Robert W. Read from collecting trips to Arizona, Hawaii, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), and Jamaica, from 1969 to 1970. Notes consist of: to-do notes, photograph lists (no negative numbers indicated), lists of common plants, general notes, research notes, sketches of plants, entries for specimens collected. Collector numbers range from 2101 to 2399. Specimen entries include: collector number, scientific name, date, locality, physical description, sex, and other characteristics. Localities include Kandy (Sri Lanka) and Castleton (Jamaica). Several specimen labels for "Plants of Ceylon" are inserted into the front of the book. Several pages of loose notes are included in the back. One black-and-white photograph of a plant and one color positive (unmounted slide) are also included.
