Abstract:
According to a news clipping in field book, Mann went to Fiji to study the "distribution of organic species in it relation to the origin of the islands and reefs." He worked along W.G. Foye, Assistant of Geology division at Harvard University. The field book begins with a variety of information: addresses from across the United States and Fiji; requests for wood specimens by scientific name; list of photographs. The field book is then organized by insect specimen, with descriptions ranging from half to full page. The field book contents starts from the front and back. Back of field book contains descriptions of areas where specimens collected, and interactions with native population. Includes calling cards, note, and map insert.
