Abstract:
The journal documents Vernon Orlando Bailey's collecting of mammal and bird specimens in British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, July 29 - October 20, 1911. Locations are often listed at the top of the page. Entries describe travel details (destinations, mode of travel), daily activities and times of day, terrain (altitude), vegetation (types and crops) and life zones (Canadian), specimens (and stomach contents), and descriptions of communities visited. Includes lists of flora per location noting zone, and type per habitat; also lists birds per location.
