Abstract:
Field book and loose notes regarding Handley's collections in Southwest Africa and Bechuanaland (modern day Botswana) in 1952 as part of the Peabody-Harvard Expedition. The field book includes journal entries on birds observed or collected. Each page in the book is dedicated to a species. Below the name of the species are listings of dates, localities, and quantities of sightings. Loose notes contain a specimen list of specimens collected from 5 July to 28 November, although field book description seem to span the entire year. Many of these localities are in modern day Namibia near the Namibia-Botswana border. Localities include Gam, Gaucha, Walvis Bay, and Chasie. Coordinates for many of these localities are included.
