Abstract:
Alexander Wetmore travels in Europe, 1930, 1934, and 1938. Photographs document travel to Amsterdam to attend the VII International Ornithological Congress and a collecting trip to Spain, 1930; England to attend the VIII International Ornithological Congress at Oxford; and France to attend the IX International Ornithological Congress in Rouen. Photographs sometimes include numbers, date, and caption with description and location. Subject matter includes Natural Sciences Centers, National Museums; and members of the international congresses. In Spain he photographed locations in the provinces of Oviedo [Asturias] and León, including collecting sites in the hillsides, fields, rivers, mountains, and valleys; buildings; and towns including Puente de los Fierros. Colleagues photographed include Wetmore, Einer Lonnberg, A. Lansborough Thomson, H. F. Witherby, Alfred Laubmann, Percy Roycroft Lowe, W. L. Sclater, Erwin Stresemann, James Henry Fleming, W. H. Witherby, B. W. Tucker, Ludlow Griscom, Wilfrid B. Alexander, Adriaan Joseph van Rossem, Georges Olivier, Jean Theodore Delacour, Hans Noll, Humphrey A. Gilbert, Alfred Ezra, Arthur A.
