Abstract:
Miscellaneous research and perhaps field notes on various birds. Includes notes on the Red-winged Blackbird collected in Charleston County, South Carolina, Buteo borealis calurus, “Description of a new subspecies of the green heron", and approximately 100 birds species listed on cards with lists of collection numbers correlating to that species written beneath. Notes are undated, but the date is inferred to be between 1871 and 1916, which are Mearns's dates of activity.
