Abstract:
The notes document Edgar Alexander Mearns' field work during the Mexican Boundary Survey, 1899. Pages are numbered. Loose notes include descriptions of mammals collected, flora observed (Montrejean), physical features and mammals of Cadillac. They are headed with location and date, and organized with type. These are numbered and detail type of specimens collected, and include varying information, a combination of habitat, abundance, diet, and behavior. Descriptions of flora lists type of plants, including trees. Descriptions cover abundance, appearance. Entries describe terrain, rivers, and plants cultivated. Locations include Montre' jean, Cadillac. Also enclosed is a list of collector numbers, museum numbers, notes on specimens, and manuscript in an envelope.
