Abstract:
This field book includes Mary Agnes Chase's list of plants collected between 1930 and 1959 in District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, and South America. The plant list entries include collector numbers (11038-12716); scientific name; location; date; and physical descriptions. Occasionally, entries include descriptive notes about the collecting activities or environment from which the plant was collected. Small sketches of grasses accompany some of the entries. Interspersed with the plant list entries are longer more narrative notes describing Chase's observations of the landscape in different locations. A list of photographs is included.
