Abstract:
This field book is volume 4 of 6 volumes. This volume contains notes from several trips in the Philippines Mearns took to collect and observe birds and mammals. Notes from his 24-31 March 1907 trip to Naujan trip start at one end of the field book and notes from his 19 May to 7 June 1907 trip to Batanes and Mt. Mayon start at the other end. Collector numbers 15058 to 15273 (birds) and 6390 to 6442 (mammals) are included. Some measurements are included. Some specimens collected by Mearns's colleagues. Localities include Mount Mayon (Mayon Volcano), Camp Wallace (La Union, Luzon), Casiguran (Luzon), Batan, and Naujan Lake. A sketch of Mount Mayon, view from Lagaspi is included, as is a note mentioning shell collecting at Apari, and itinerary from 19 May to 7 June 1907.
