This item contains cruise information from six different cruise vessels: Kevin Moran (July to October 1962), Black Douglass and Swan (November 1963), Yelcho (November 1963 to March 1964), Ziapiola (February 1964), and T-3 (July and August 1961). Bodies of water plankton samples were taken from for each cruise are as follows: 1. North and South Atlantic Ocean near U.S., Canada, north west coast of Africa, and Brazil; 2. North Pacific; 3. Drake Passage and Southern Ocean; 4. South Atlantic Ocean; 5. Arctic Ocean. The bulk of the collection consists of data sheets recording some of the following information: "opening and closing plankton tows", "Nansen bottles", ship and cruise no., station no., sample number, total no. samples, coordinates, date, local time, tow type, net in, net out, length of tow, wire angle at max depth, flowmeter reading, corrected depth range, flowmeter no., displacement vol., flowmeter calibration factor, corrected displ. vol., vol. H20 filtered, wire angle information, sky condition, sea condition, surface water temperature, BT slide data, BT temperature, remarks, comments, or observations, and observer name.
