Abstract:
This field book contains itineraries, camp lists, specimen lists, and diary entries, pertaining to Mearns's collecting activities in the Philippines between 3 January and 11 February 1906. One itinerary provides the details of a trip to the southern Philippine Islands, 3-10 January 1906. Specimen lists include “Birds collected on Palmas Islands, Celebes and Basilan expeditions”, collector number 13887-13947, and “Mammals collected on Palmas Islands, Celebes”, collector numbers 6019-6036. Localities include but are not limited to Palmas Island (currently Palau Miangas in Indonesia), Zamboanga, Isabella [sic], and Camps 1-9. A list of camps is provided after the last journal entry. Some local names of birds are provided.
