The 8 photographs document geological and botanical observations of Bohumil Shimek while in Iowa and Nebraska. Photographs are undated and are grouped by number. They are individually numbered and include typed descriptions listing a combination of location, type of formation, and type of plants. Subject matter includes vistas and detail images of river banks (Missouri River and Little Sioux River), woods, bluffs, prairie, agricultural fields, along roadsides,and loess terrain (bluffs). Locations are in the vicinity of Florence, Nebraska; Turin, Missouri Valley, Milford, Iowa.
