Abstract:
This field book contains notes on birds Mearns observed or collected on his return trip from the Philippines and notes on birds and mammals observed in various localities in the United States shortly after returning from his trip. Entries range in date from around 15 September to 13 October 1904 and 19 November to 2 January 1905. Only collector number 13737, for a bird collected at sea, is included. Localities en route from the Philippines include Manila, Nagasaki, and Mogi. Brief notes during this period remark on crabs and shells collected. United States localities include Romero (state?), Circleville (OH), and Plattsburg [sic] (NY). Sketch of a bird included.
