Mearns to Stejneger: regarding reptiles and batrachians from Fort Clark and Fort Hancock, Texas, for that department's reports on their Mexican Boundary collections, July [189?]. Grinnell to Mearns: regarding shrikes from San Clemente Island (California), 4 August, 1897. Beck to Mearns: about bird specimens sent to Mearns and discussing the possibility of trading, 20 April 1898. Ridgeway to Mearns: comparing Mearns's type of Lanius ludvicianus anthonyi to the type for L. l. gambeli and other notes on birds, 6 May 1898.
