Abstract:
An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 12 March to 24 December 1971 in England, Virginia, Hawaii, Virginia, Massachusetts, Australia, and Louisiana. Collection numbers 53636-53926 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.) Also included are some longer narrative notes on vegetation in various localities. Localities include but are not limited to: Suffolk (England); Bull Run Mts., Sleepy Hollow (Virginia); Polihale State Park, Haleakala, Kipuka Ki, Kalapana Beach (Hawaii); Franklin County (Massachusetts); Canberra, Milton, Tidbinbilla (Australia); Glover's Reef, Long Cay, Small Cay, Middle Cay (Louisiana). A small diagram on page 45 indicates location of tagged trees in Puhiman Crater (Hawaii).
