Abstract:
This item contains 67 black and white photographs depicting bird specimens, local inhabitants, village life, and country side, wide shots of trails, and collecting localities in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (SNSM) region of Colombia -- all of which Carriker took during his trip to Colombia in 1943 to collect bird and perhaps other types of specimens. His companions include Felisa and Luis Rivera (and perhaps others). Localities depicted include but are not limited to "Mamanacanaca Camp", "Guatapuri Valley", "Chinducua", and River "Guatapuri".
