Abstract:
An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected by F. R. Fosberg from 8 August to 21 December 1966 on the Marshall Islands, Japan, Korea (probably South Korea), Hawaiian Islands, Panama, and Florida. Collector numbers 48014-48232 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.) Some longer narrative notes document vegetation in various localities. Localities include but are not limited to: Kwajalein island (Marshall Islands); Nikko, Oshima Island, Honshu, Kyushu (Japan); Imjin River, Libby Bridge (Korea); Hawaii National Park (Hawaii); Canal Zone (Panama); St. Vincent Island, Franklin County (Florida). Included in the book are a map of Barro Colorado Island, Canal Zone (Panama); and letter from Sherry K. Pittam regarding the determination of lichens that Fosberg collected.
