Abstract:
This diary contains notes on Carriker's collecting trip to Bolivia to collect mostly birds, but also mammal and possibly other types of specimens, from 3 April to 26 December 1936, possibly for the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia. The beginning of the note book contains notes that are continuations from several entries between 21 April and 15 December 1936. Carriker's notes are narrative and remark on the quantities of specimens collected, abundance or scarcity of specimens, sometimes temperatures, elevations, if a new species was collected or how many species were collected, and also notes regarding non-collecting daily activities and observations. Localities in which specimens were collected include but are not limited to La Paz, Llallagua, Catavi, Challapampa, Chocaya, and River Azero.
