Abstract:
This field book contains notes from 26 June to 10 October 1914 that Resser took in Montana during paleontological and geological research. Resser notes brachiopods, gastropods, algae, trilobites, and other specimens from the Cambrian and other periods. Brief notes on vegetation, mammals, and birds spotted are also included. Locations include but are not limited to White Sulphur Springs, Smith River, Willow Creek, and Newland Creek. A sketch of the stratification of a section within the valley of Big Birch, accompanied by descriptions of each layer, is also included. Expenses recorded throughout the notebook, but also listed starting on page 185. 189 pages.
