Abstract:
These field notes document Englesing's botanical collections in Nicaragua at the Bragmans Bluff Lumber Company, Puerto Cabezas, from 29 November 1927 to 10 July 1928. Collector numbers 42-350 and Yale numbers (only for specimens with wood samples) 1230-13276 are included. This field book contains a specimen list and a "revised field notes" section that contains additional details about the specimens collected. The specimen list entries provide collector number, Yale number, common name, scientific name, and family. Specimens form a wide variety of families were collected. The revised field notes provide the following information: local name, sometimes local use, detailed physical descriptions of individual specimens including measurement and color, distribution, description of surrounding environment, and date found. Some labeled photographs of specimens are included. Collections took place in Northwestern Nicaragua. Also includes remarks by Paul C. Standley, descriptions, photographs, and a plant sample, according to a note on the title page. Identifications by Paul C. Standley, Field Museum of Natural History, are included.
