Abstract:
The typed notebook documents L. Walkinshaw's observations of birds in Michigan, December 1977 - October 1978. Includes a list of Sandhill Crane observation trips in Michigan and Florida including location (state, county, town, geographic landmark), amount of time observed, times of day observed, and date; notes on Sandhill Cranes include date, location, and a combination of descriptions of weather, time of observations, description of flocks and individual birds, vegetation, nest (construction, measurements), eggs (quantity, appearance, weight, measurements), parents (behavior) and followup observations; a variety of birds' nests with type, date, parent, egg, chick and nest data; list of bird band data on Kirtland's Warblers with number, sex, nest, territory, region, date; and notes on Kirtland's Warbler observations. Locations include Texas, Idaho, and counties in Michigan of Jackson, Crawford, and Oscoda.
