Abstract:
The notebook is the second of 2 documenting observations of L. Walkinshaw in Michigan, during 1973-1974. Includes typed notes. Begins with a 4-page introduction discussing his observations of the Kirtland Warbler's nesting and habitats in Michigan from 1932-1974. This is followed with lists of bird observations for Michigan include number, type, quantity, location (county, town, sometimes section), and date; lists of data from Sandhill Crane trips (number, date, time of day and hours observed, miles driven, miles walked, quantity of cranes, and location); detailed notes on birds' nests (construction, measurements), eggs (quantity, measurements, weight), fledglings, parents (behavior), location (county, town, sometimes sanctuary, or environment), fellow observers, and method of travel to observation site; sketches of nest locations; banded bird data arranged by date (band number, type, age, sex, time, weight, measurements). There is an insert. Includes locations in Michigan counties of Crawford, Muskegon, Clinton, Jackson, Oceana, Alger, and Chippewa. Locations also includes Betchler Lakes.
