Abstract:
Number 5 in a series of 1904 botanical field notes. This volume contains notes taken in North Carolina, Georgia, and perhaps other southeastern states from 27 July to 5 September 1904. Collector numbers 10420-10544 are included. Boynton collects a wide variety of plants. Two frequently collected genera Koellia and Rhexia, commonly known as meadow beauties. Locations include but are not limited to Hominy Creek (NC), Biltmore (NC), Oak Mountain (NC), Spring, Hendersonville (NC), and Doctor Town (GA). Boynton also includes descriptions of the specimen, descriptions of the soil and soil type, commonality and abundance, descriptions of localities, and additional information.
