Abstract:
The motion pictures documents Waldo Schmitt's work during the Smithsonian-Bredin Belgian Congo Expedition, 1955. The 28 minute film exists as Reel 24; film transfer with wet gate; 3/4" U-matic videotape; July 6, 1995; and a digital file. Some aspects duplicate scenes from other cataloged films. Shows adult and juvenile elephants, birds and other wildlife, working on seine nets, local inhabitants at work, flora and fauna along the route, and countryside vistas.
