Abstract:
The letters, reports, and specimen lists by William Stimpson and L.M. Squire detail specimens requested and collected for the National Museum of Natural History during the United States North Pacific Exploring Expedition (1853-1856), in 1855. Materials were collected by L.M. Squire aboard the steamer, John Hancock. Lists include date, number, common name, locality, and remarks. These are usually further description of location, collector, or other flora or fauna at time of collection. Locations include California, Japan, and Hong Kong.
