Color slides document the work completed by Waldo L. Schmitt during his participation in the Palmer Peninsula (Antarctica) Survey, 1962-1963. Some slides are labeled with location, date, and description. Subject matter includes views of laboratory facilities; detail images of specimens; participants collecting and preparing specimens; candid images of participants; penguins and their eggs; starfish; images of jellyfish and other invertebrates underwater; birds and their environment; and views of terrain from ship. Some are duplicates of photographs in the collection division 15. Locations in Antarctica include Argentine Island, Livingston Island, and Arthur Harbor.
