Abstract:
This is the first of two groups of black and white photographs were taken by William Harding Longley, documenting work completed with Waldo L. Schmitt ca. 1924-1931 at the Carnegie Institute of Washington, Marine Biology Laboratory at the Dry Tortugas Islands on Loggerhead Key in Florida (in existence from 1903 to 1939). Images are detail shots of groups and individual fish and marine life observed in the reefs. There are few markings on the reverse side of the images.
