Color photographs of Waldo LaSalle Schmitt document his work during the Smithsonian-Bredin Caribbean Expeditions, 1956, 1958-1960 and Society Islands Expedition, 1957. Subject matter includes fish specimens collected, sailing vessels, fishing with a net, at sea, cliffs of coastline, lobster collecting, local [native] dance competition mentioned in diaries(?), harbors, and collecting along shorelines. Images are in some cases color versions of black and white photographs in collection.
