Abstract:
Photographs (color and black and white) document work completed during the Smithsonian-Bredin Caribbean Expedition, 1960 [Smithsonian-Bredin Expedition to Yucatan (1960)]. Images have information listed on reverse side and have captions typed on attached paper. Images show monuments; grounded sailing vessels; candid images of local inhabitants at work on boats; images of harbor of San Miguel; crustaceans and their environment as well as crab larvae, jellyfish, and sponges; participants collecting specimens; examples of Homaledra sabalella discovered to be in Mexican flora; mangroves and their roots; and Tulum ruins. Photographs may have been intended for publication. Locations in Mexico include vicinity of Yucatan including Ascension Bay [Bahía de la Ascensión], Cozumel Island, Ruinas de Tulum, and Quintana Roo.
